Celloboxing takes Kevin Olusola to the Finals

UPDATE:Congratulations to Kevin and the Pentatonix on winning The Sing-Off! 

After his beatboxing/cello-playing, now dubbed "celloboxing", YouTube video went viral, Kevin "KO" Olusola Andover '06, is in the running to win NBC's The Sing-Off - the prize is $200,000 and a Sony recording contract. Him and his a capella group "Pentatonix" are finalists on the show and have stiff competition with two other a capella groups - Urban Method and Dartmouth Aires. The winner will be revealed in a live broadcast, American Idol style, at 8 p.m. EST on Monday, Nov 28.

While at Andover, KO's main focus was playing in the Orchestra, the jazz band, and began developing his skills as a beatboxer as a member of the "Yorkies" (Andover's premier all-male a cappella group). He continues to to play cello while earning a degree in East Asian Studies at Yale.
